Weld Pins for Insulation Installation are engineered and manufactured to streamline insulation hanging by putting the benefits of arc stud welding or cd stud welding to use at the worksite. They give you the flexibility of stud welding with the durability, uniformity and stability needed especially for commercial or industrial applications. We have a large number of weld pins available for various applications depending upon factors such as the base metal on which you'll be applying the weld pin; the type of stud welder you are using, arc or capacitor discharge (CD), and the surface condition you will be attaching the insulation to.
We supply several types of stud welding weld pins for insulation installation and if we don"t have exactly what your project requires, we are able to custom manufacture them to your exact specifications. Here are four of our standard weld pins.
Standard Weld Pins for use with Capacitor Discharge (CD) stud welders can be considered the "workhorse" of our weld pins as they are applicable in a wide variety of projects. They have a minimum tensile strength of 60,000 psi and a minimum yield of 50,000 psi when applied to low carbon steel. Information on tensile strength and yield for stainless steel and aluminum are available upon request.
Conical Tip Weld Pins With standard sizes of 12 gauge and 10 gauge plus diameters of .105 or .135 respectively, the conical tip of these weld studs can really speed up insulation hanging as the points easily push through the material.
Sure-Fire CD Weld Pins We call these capacitor discharge weld pins, "sure-fire" because that"s the performance you can expect when using these weld studs to hang insulation. They attach easily and are perfect for welding regardless of the surface condition, even if it"s covered in rust, paint or mill scale.
Double Pointed Arc Weld Pins There are times and insulation installation projects where arc stud welding is your best or only option. These 10 gauge pins which have a diameter of .135 though other sizes and varying lengths are available upon request, give you a tensile strength of 60,000 psi (minimum) and a yield of 50,000 psi (minimum) when affixed to low carbon steel. Values for various grades of stainless steel are also available upon request. The double conical points give you flexibility while making installation of the insulation easier.
The weld pins for insulation installation we manufacture meet our exacting standards and have been proven in countless applications around the world.
