What Is a CNC Welder?
A production stud welder/CNC welder is a CNC or automation-ready stud welding machine built to run a fixed weld cycle repeatedly with little operator adjustment. It combines a welding power source (Arc or CD), a positioning system (CNC axis or fixed bench head), a welding head, and an automatic stud feeder. The machine automatically positions the welding head, executes the programmed weld sequence, and repeats the process with high positional accuracy for production manufacturing. This setup covers stud welding automation for parts with a defined stud pattern, without the added cost of a multi-axis industrial robot.
Unlike an automated robotic welding system designed for flexible motion, CNC welding machines provide controlled linear-axis movement for repetitive welding patterns and accurate part layouts.
